In for some cold temperatures

So while I was brooding over what to pack for the trip (I'm attempting to keep my pack under 35 pounds) I figured I ought to see what the exact temperature will be while we are away. At the moment, La Paz is sitting at a refreshing 13 degrees Celsius (59 degrees Fahrenheit). At night it will drop to a frigid -3 degrees Celsius (27 degrees Fahrenheit! AH!). Temperatures are going to be similar for the entire trip, with the warmest areas being near the Peruvian/Chilean border (and Santa Cruz de la Sierra if we can make it to the tropical lowlands). Boy will I be happy to get there... cold weather and I don't mix very well!

Tickets purchased today!

So it's final; $950 dollars later, we are set on our way to Bolivia. We leave June 10th and return home July 26th, giving us a total of 47 days to explore the South American Northwest. Exciting day! No turning back now ;-) Now back to brushing up on my EspaƱol...

  • More relative dates and durations for each destination soon to come, but this is the rough idea for now.
  • I've begun charting our journey on Google Maps, you can check it out here. A link to the map may also be found in the navigation bar to the right of this page for easy access.
